IBM Big Blue フットボールチーム
このたび IBM Big Blue のヘッドコーチを務めることになり、大変光栄に思います。このチームは長年にわたり私の人生の重要な一部であり、IBM の誇り高い伝統を体現するチームを率いる機会をいただけたことに心から感謝しています。
Big Blue フットボールが50周年のシーズンを迎えるにあたり、これまでチームに時間、エネルギー、そして情熱を注いできた選手、コーチ、IBM社員の皆様が築き上げてきた伝統を称えたいと思います。このユニフォームを身にまとう選手たちは、自分自身を超えた存在の一員であることを理解しています。それは、献身、チームワーク、そして粘り強さによって形づくられた伝統です。
私は IBM Big Blue で12シーズンプレーする機会に恵まれ、このプログラムの歩みへの深い敬意と、私たちが目指す未来への明確なビジョンを持っています。選手としてチームの成功のためにすべてを捧げてきましたが、その同じ覚悟と姿勢をヘッドコーチとしての役割にも持ち込みます。
これまでの年月の中で、IBMコミュニティの多くの方々と親しい関係を築いてきました。今後もそのつながりをさらに深め、チームと組織全体に帰属意識、団結力、そして共通の目的意識を育んでいきたいと考えています。
私たちの目標は、日本一のチームを築き、IBM にふさわしいプロフェッショナリズム、規律、そして誠実さを体現するパフォーマンスを発揮することです。現代のフットボールに求められる準備力、適応力、そして革新性を大切にしながら、フィジカルで、知的で、結束力のあるフットボールを展開していきます。
Big Blue は単なるフットボールチームではありません。それは信頼、共通の目的、そして相互支援によって成り立つコミュニティです。IBM社員の皆様からいただく声援は選手たちの力となり、世界的に卓越性と革新性で知られる組織を代表していることを改めて認識させてくれます。
過去に敬意を払いながら未来を築いていく中で、私たちはフィールド上だけでなく、職場や社会においても、忍耐力、責任感、そして敬意を体現するリーダーの育成に取り組んでいきます。

Message from Head Coach John Stanton
IBM Big Blue Football Team
I am deeply honored to serve as Head Coach of IBM Big Blue. This program has been an important part of my life for many years, and I am grateful for the opportunity to lead a team that represents such a proud tradition within IBM.
As we enter the 50th anniversary season of Big Blue football, we celebrate a legacy built by generations of players, coaches, and IBM employees who have invested their time, energy, and passion into this team. The men who wear this uniform understand they are part of something larger than themselves — a tradition defined by commitment, teamwork, and resilience.
Having played for IBM Big Blue for 12 seasons, I carry deep respect for where this program has been and a clear vision for where we aim to go. I gave everything I had to help this team succeed as a player, and I bring that same commitment and mindset to my role as Head Coach.
Over the years, I have built close personal relationships across the IBM community. I look forward to strengthening those connections to foster a strong sense of belonging, unity, and shared purpose within our team and organization.
Our goal is to build the best team in Japan and perform at a level that reflects the professionalism, discipline, and integrity associated with IBM. We will play physical, intelligent, and unified football while embracing preparation, adaptability, and innovation to meet the demands of today’s game.
Big Blue is more than a football team. It is a community built on trust, shared purpose, and mutual support. The encouragement we receive from IBM employees strengthens our players and reminds them that they represent an organization known worldwide for excellence and innovation.
As we honor the past and build toward the future, we are committed to developing leaders who embody perseverance, accountability, and respect — on the field, in the workplace, and in society.
